The cables are very flat, and by just loosening off the handset from the wall a bit, you can feed the flat cable behind the casing. In my case it was just a case of loosening 4 screws that held the existing wires in place, inserting each of the 4 relevant coloured cables into the relevant holes (alongside the existing wires) and then tightening back up the screws that hold the wires in place.

These cables have a connector at one end that plugs into the Ring unit, and about half a dozed colour-coded/labelled wires at the other end. The app lets you select the make and model of your intercom and then points you to one of the 3 included cables (in my case, 'Cable A'). This intercom allows me to speak to people at my electric gates, and to open the gates for them to enter.
